Back developed

I began thinking more into the back cover and how I can create some depth or contrasts from the continuous orange I had been using. So i decided to incorporate one of the ideas I had earlier for the front cover. Now I know at the moment the composition of the splats are not working at the moment but I think using this creates that depth the back needs. I have positioned it coming out of the side at an angle to relate to the motion on the front of the cover and I want to keep this flowing throughout, the idea that their sound/music is a music explosion.

On this design I feel the opposite now, there is too much going on, the explosion and saxophone is too big and overpowering the track listing making it un balanced, using the sax explode could be used in the cd insert? and a nice illustrative piece with a small piece of information about the band. Below I have added just the explosive splat element to see if the saxophone was an redundant element. I will try different scales of this, probably in a smaller scale to be less over powering and see if the design balances out well.
