Brushes and ideas developed

To the left is the idea I want to pursue and develop, I like how the saxophone s subtly in the design rather than using the whole shape and making it a definite image, I'm going to look into some montage work to get some help on layout and good use of layering. Still unsure of the typography I looked into more retro stylised types ad cam across 'disco diva' below which maybe too much and resemble disco rather than jazz funk, ether way it's too faint on the design ideally I would like it to be white to contrast with the background and the bright orange but the lines are too thin making it hard to see, readability is poor.

Really these font only works in white but it's too faint so I'm going to have to scrap this type choice and find another, I'm thinking an edited version of Avant Garde to keep it slightly up to date but portray a retro side to it as well.
