Retro Graphic Cookbook (Library book)
I came across this book in the library as I was looking for more inspiration for retro typography and how to adapt it to look more contemporary. The first page placed at the top is a brief showcase a brief insight to seventies typography, showing the tightly kerned lettering the typography is quite loud and in your face which as I keep saying is iconic to the seventies, Ideally I don't particularly want to represent the seventies era it's just jazz-funk was in it's prime time at this time, I think as long as it has some aspect of retro in it the band will be happy. Page two is a furthered research into pop art showing some nice designs. it's nice to see not the obvious most famous pop art designs from such as Roy Litchenstein and Andy Warhol, but I will have to be careful if I want to take the pop art route as I don't want it to look sixties it needs to look jazz like. third page I scanned as it shows a nice process on 3d typography on which I briefly have sketched earlier. The fourth page uses a really nice photoshop technique which I think looks really effective and loud, I may try this out as a quick task.
